For Our God is a consuming Fire
THE NEED TO ENGAGE THE FIRE OF GOD –
In the book of Matthew 3:11, Luke 3:16 John introduces us to an important aspect of the ministry of Jesus. There are different facet of the ministry of Jesus that we can learn from. For example, he’s the Lamb of God who taketh away the sins of the world. John 1:29
He’s the lights of the world, which means that the man in darkness can count on having light in Jesus
That means when it comes to sin, Jesus can be trusted to deal with it. He’s the saviour of the World who came to save sinner, 1 Tim 1:12-16
He’s the word incarnate, meaning the word made flesh – John 1:14
but then there is this ministry that John by revelation reveals which is in Matthew 3:11-12
JESUS THE BAPTISER
Jesus sits in a capacity in the heavenly realm as a baptiser.
In Act 1:5 before his ascension he reintroduces his ministry as a baptiser to the apostle, John Truly baptised with water but ye shall be baptised with the Holy Ghost not many days hence
Acts 2:1
At the day of Pentecost, there was 2 aspect of what they received. The Holy Ghost and Fire
The fire of God is an emblem of the Spirit. Fire is not the spirit but an emblem in the realm of the spirit.
An emblem is a symbol, a visible thing that stand for something that cannot be pictured
There is one coming after me John 1:27 (before the move there’s preparation) john was th preparatory prophet. He is the one who comes after me. He shall baptise you with fire
He baptised us with the Holy Ghost and fire. This is not the same thing. THE PERSON AND HIS AGENT.
Jesus baptises with the Holy Ghost and fire. The person and his attribute and keeps him in your life
But the person
DIMENSION OF ENGAGEMENT – Luke 3:16. Fire represent different thing in different dimensions and realms.
This fire that we have received should not only be locked up in your spirit but must be engaged. It must be put to work.
He baptised you with HOLY SPIRIT AND FIRE. Not one but both.
We must not have one and leave the other. Not focus on one and neglects the other
THE SAME WAY THE NAME OF JESUS HAS AUTHORITY IN HEAVEN DIMENSION, THE EARTH DIMENSION, UNDER WORLD DIMENSION. The Same way we can engage the fire of God
There is a need to always engage the fire of God to Judge your heart.
3 REALMS OF ENGAGEMENT – FIRE MEANS DIFFERENT THING IN
- Heavenly Realm – Fire is for purification – Purity
Engage it for purification – Malachi 3:2. If you understand why God said the fire upon the altar should burn Leviticus 6:12
- Earth – Judgement
The first realm of engagement mention of fire as an instrument of Judgement – Sodom and Gomorrah – Genesis 19:24
God used it an instrument for Judgement. If we judge ourselves we will not be judged. That means when we allow the fire on our altars to ignite us in the secret place, which fire you ignite begins to judge you. Bible says Judge yourselves if you are in the faith but he never told us how and what to judge ourselves with. God Judges with Fire
1 Corinthians 11:31 He says Judge yourselves / Examine yourselves if you are in the faith. How will we accurately judge ourselves? By Fire –
Each Man’s work shall be judged by fire 1 Corinthians 3:13
There is a need to always engage the fire of God to Judge your heart.
Underworld –
Fire brings torment and separation.
It’s always reminds the devil of where he’ll spend eternity. Torment and Judgement – Ezekiel 28:14
Elijah as a prophet understood the realm and rules of what to call at the hour. He understood the spiritual significance of Fire. Fire bring separation.
3 AREAS TO ENGAGE THE FIRE OF GOD – THREE AREAS THE FIRE OF GOD AFFECTS
1. Isaiah 6: 7 – Our Communication (allow the fire of God to purify our tongue) – The way you speak is an indication you whether or not your tongue has been refined or not.
Let no evil communication proceed out of your mouth but rather that which is of grace
The first place the fire affected was it gave them a different utterance. J
If you have an ugly attitude in your communication, no one will want to listen to you.
Neither am I saying be apologetic about the word but understand wholesome communication.
2. Unhealthy Appetite and unholy desires. Sexual appetite – Unhealthy Sexual appetites, carnal appetite dies when fire erupt. When we engage the fire of God.
Whenever you find yourself desire unhealthy things, it is time for fire.
When you have craving, it an indication for the fire is dwindling down. It’ll be a perfect opportunity to engage fire
When Jesus said he’s delivered us from the corruption that is in the world through lust, this was prophetic.
The dimensions of God and his word is trapped in 3 dimensions. The Logos, which is the fulfilled word, the Rhema which is the Now Word, Ginomai which is begin to be or become.
3. For Sight – our vision, perception, Just like Jesus, the scripture gives a vivid description Matthew 28:3 and Revelation 1:14, Revelation 2:18, Revelation 19:12
PRAYER: Create in me a clean heart and purify me
HOW TO IGNITE THE FIRE – 3 KEYS TO IGNITION
1. Through meditation – As I mussed on your word, the fire burned – PSALM 39:3, To meditate means to ponder, whisper, muse, mutter and to roar
2. Praying in the spirit – Stir up the gift of God, kindle or fan into flame the fire – 2 Timothy 1:6 Fan into Flames
3. The hearing of Faith – – Did you receive the spirit by the works or by the hearing of Faith – Luke 24:32, Galatians 3:5-9 Did out heart not burn within us as He spoke with us
