The Purpose of the Holy Spirit in Prayer.
The more we pray and spend time on our knees engaging and interfacing with the Spirit of God in the Places of Prayer, we provide the Platform for the Spirit of God to discharge His ministry in our lives and the lives of other. 1 Corinthians 4:14-15… If I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit by the Holy Spirit that is within me prays. We must therefore understand the role of the Spirit as pertaining to Prayer especially when we pray in tongues or when we speak in tongues (there are differences between praying in tongues and speaking in tongues ). The former deals with an aspect of prayer whiles the later deals with an aspect of bringing forth an utterance or a prophetic message, however, we must understand that the Spirit prays. We must therefore allow the Holy Spirit free flow as the scriptures have declared, 1 Thessalonians 5: 19.. do not quench or stifle the Holy Spirit, Do not treat prophecies with contempt. The Holy Spirit is as the Spirit of Prayer seeks to discharge his ministry of Prayer in and through us as we also discharge our duties as new creation Priests in Christ Jesus.
Prayer therefore is the platform for which the Spirit of God can find expression in the earth and in our lives to establish the “thus says the Lord”. It is the platform for which “thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” can be executed in the Spheres of our lives.
